Havyaka is  doing a useful job as a propaganda medium that brings news to the community by keeping a keen eye on the goings and goings of the society.

There are mainly two types of newspapers. A business newspaper (Vanizya) is its mouthpiece issued by another association. Havyaka magazine belongs to the second category. It is the mouthpiece of the Sri Akhil Havyaka Mahasabha, the link between the Mahasabha and the members. Such magazines have to work within the constraints imposed by financial page, content, articles and postage etc. Succeeding as a propaganda medium to communicate messages to the society is not an easy task, given the limitations of this format, considering the changing tastes of the people, it is difficult to run such newspapers profitably. But in the eyes of an organization, the benefits of making a newspaper are different.

On the 1st day of June, 1966, the A. The first quarterly magazine was launched under the chairmanship of Bhima Bhatta. In that case it was 15 pages in size (Printed by P. S. Bhatta at the Karnataka Co-operative Publishing House Ltd., Bangalore City, Chamarajpet, Published by Shri A. Bhima Bhatta, President, Editor on behalf of Sri Havyaka Brahmana Mahasabha, Bangalore).

Havyaka magazine started taking steps of its progress as an efficient media that enables the Havyakas who are distributed in distant towns, states and abroad to exchange their ideas, experience and opinion with each other and to keep in touch with the central organization. As the work activities of Havyaka increased, the magazine published quarterly became a monthly, and the ideas and plans of Havyaka came closer to the people.
